Margaret O’Hanlon is a Queenstown-based singer, producer and arts advocate whose vibrant career has helped shape the cultural life of the Wakatipu region for more than three decades. As founder of Whirlwind Productions NZ, she has created and produced a wide range of acclaimed live entertainment experiences, from intimate Tiny Room Concerts to large-scale orchestral and themed theatrical productions. Known for blending music, comedy and storytelling, Margaret has built a reputation for warm, engaging performances that celebrate both iconic artists and original concepts unique to Central Otago. Her contribution to the local arts scene has been recognised through honours including the Heart of the District Award, the Wakatipu Foundation Contribution to the Arts Award, and the NZ National Hero Award.
